The Here & Now and Golf

Posted on February 9th, 2008 in Uncategorized by willie

Why is this Topic, so important for golfers??
It’s important for golfers because, only when your in the Here & Now, are you free of distraction and more able to focus and zooming in on the ball, or the ball path to the pin, on the green.
I will admit that it can consume energy, if you do not know how to turn it on and off.
Switch on, when
your about to start your preshot routine,
when it is your turn to putt,
Every shot requires a Here & Now trigger, a preshot routine and the actual swing,
Other then the above, switch it off and enjoy the flowers along the way.
Too much internal noise or chatter can distract you,
Too much external chatter, can also distract you,
Learn to tune into your way of playing golf, your preshot routine,
Your eye and your ears are the most important tools to get you into the Here & Now.
Be mindful, they can also work against you.
So track what your looking at before those wayward shots and what you are hearing,

Be well

Your 2008 nlp tips using Timeline

Posted on January 4th, 2008 in Uncategorized by willie

Hi,
What would you like to achieve (technique or the perfect golf shot) for this year 2008.

  1. write it down,
  2. when do you want to have this technique, working for you
  3. how much time are you going to invest into reaching this level
  4. so if you want to have a great swing by July. Good
  5. get 4 pieces of paper,
  6. write Feb, April, June and July, on different pieces,
  7. next you need to organize your timeline,
  8. to make it simple, lay the pieces of paper with the months in ascending order> Feb > April > June > July
  9. Now do a circle of excellence, this time picture the perfect execution of the technique that your after.
  10. do this step X2
  11. during your 2nd circle of excellence, step forward on to the Feb,  piece of paper, stop here for a breath or 2,
  12. next step forward on to the April,  June and July.
  13. When you reach July do 4 full belly breaths and imaging your technique that your wanting is your umbilical cord,
  14. rub your belly button and pull you umbilical cord/swing technique that your wanting to perfect, out and hook it on to the July wall,
  15. while here perform your circle of excellence and go through the routine and perform your most best swing technique ever,
  16. step back, on to June and lean slightly backwards and imaging your self practicing your swing
  17. step back into April and imagine yourself  working on that swing, you know that it still needs a bit of polish to get it right.
  18. step back into Feb and your down at the driving range and working on your swing and it is starting to come together and your feel good about it.
  19. step back into the present day and smile at yourself, for you know that this is going to be a piece of cake
  20. Finally step out of the circle of excellence and relax

Your Golf Goals

Posted on December 17th, 2007 in Uncategorized by willie

1. Realistic golf goals,
Doing the small steps to get where you want to be,
bring out your putter, if your going to watch a movie and during the breaks. Practice your putting, if possible use both side , do a left hand putt and then change and do a right hand .putt.
Slot in some sit ups in between those putting.
Add some reverse leg lift, when lying on your back,
2. Your goals are in Harmony with your values and belief, this will also include on commitment to you personal needs, to your family needs and to your work needs.
3. Write them down and review them regularly, remember that whatever you creatively imaging  and ardently desire and sincerely act upon will come to pass.
4 Apply a Timeline to your goals.
5. Keep your goals to yourself.

Golf NLP Tech 1

Posted on December 9th, 2007 in Uncategorized by willie

What I am going to post here is a whole series of Golf NLP techniques and how to use them

Belief Systems

Enabling belief

I have the potential to be a golfer, who scores in the lower 80’s >
I exercise and keep fit, because their is a purpose to this >
I can imagine myself scoring in the lowers 80’s, I can see myself smiling and shaking hands, with my friends at the end of the match and saying ‘ Well done, I enjoyed that’ knowing that I have won >
I feel confident>
I put my full attention and energy into the game>
I play well >
I notice when I play a particular good shot >
This increases the chance of winning and I often do win >
I have proven this to my self, that it works.

This was extracted from p.87 0of Sue Knight NLP at Work

Keep the time between the thought and the action as small as you can,
the bigger the gap between the thought and the action, the more likely that it will work against you.

Golf reframing

Posted on July 29th, 2007 in Uncategorized by willie

Golf re-framing, is about stating our golf fears( parts of our golf game, that we are not comfortable with). This is the great part, because once we state, that which we fear, we no longer fear. It loser it’s power and the panic and anxiety attacks, that come with it, just does not have the same effect that it use too.
So put in a few taps from EFT4GOLF
and your enemy is no more

ARIA & ALIA In Golf

Posted on June 19th, 2007 in Uncategorized by willie

How to use ARIA & ALIA, to help you improve your golf.
1. ACKNOWLEDGE THE ERROR -hey it’s done, the shot that was supposed to go straight down the fairway, is over in the next fairway. Yes you made an Error, period.
2.RELEASE IT- let it go. With this I normally do an internal to external release, so that I have fully released the error. My release technique is to lick my right index finger and flick it away from me.
3.IMPRINT A VISUAL IMAGE OF THE CORRECT ACTION.- so just take a second close your eyes and picture the flight of the ball, going the way that you would have liked it to go.
4. ASK YOUR BODY AND NON-CONSCIOUS SELF TO THAT THE NEXT TIME.- just say to yourself " yes" as you picture the ball flight that would have used.

Using 2nd Position to Review your game

Posted on May 31st, 2007 in Uncategorized by willie

When you review your golf stats and some parts of the stats, just does not make any logic or sense for you.
Take a deep breath and just look away from the stats score sheet, for a second.
Now create a picture of you(1), looking at another you(2) reading the golf stats. This is how you disassociate yourself from the golf stats, that you have just been reading.
Look at the parts of your game that needs working on,
do you see a pattern emerging??
Nothing just happens, without our input, both on a conscious and unconscious level
Now that you can see the patterns happening ie most of my shots, that I take after watching Greg shot, just goes all over the place.
So now I am more mindful to avoid looking at Greg shot ,
